I've found my furever family!

Hi! My Name Is Angel

We're happy to tell you that Angel has a new furever home.

Sweet and Petite!  Meet Angel (Superior Angelia), a gorgeous red fawn beauty. Angel decided to skip the racing career entirely and head straight into the good life of retirement! Despite her diminutive size (61 lbs) this sweet young girl will quickly capture your heart with her stunning looks and loving personality. Angel gives hugs and kisses and does a happy dance when her people arrive from any absence (no matter how short)!

At just two years old, Angel is a blank slate ready to soak up all the love, training, and adventures her future family has to offer. She has shown resilience as she moved between several different temporary/foster homes.  As soon she gets used to her surroundings she showcases her energetic, playful and affectionate personality demonstrating just how much she wants to be your best friend.  She is an enthusiastic eater and loves food and treats of all kind, but she is respectful at family dinner time and finds a close quiet place to lay and wait for her people to finish their meal.  She thrives where the routines are consistent and rules are clear.  Given her young age, at times she can exhibit puppy-like enthusiasm for food, toys and dog-beds, but if there is an established pack order / firm people leadership she quickly adapts to acceptable behaviors.  Angel is comfortable with correction and will willingly release any items, toys or food to her people without complaint or any signs of aggression.

Angel is highly intelligent and has big feelings so changes make her anxious.  During her adjustment she will need some patience and guidance as she establishes a regular routine and potty schedule.  Separation from her people is stressful so if not in an active/present household deliberate attention to alone training and schedule consistency will be of high priority to her forever home.  She is still just a puppy and demonstrates boundless energy and enthusiasm. Angel loves all toys and is particularly fond of ones that squeak - she likes to gather all her toys around her wherever she decides to rest.

Her current foster family has worked extensively with her on leash training (walks are a favorite activity!) and while she does have a high prey drive, her reactivity to squirrels and other small creatures has substantially diminished with time and exposure.  The current foster household has a young male greyhound and the 2 dogs get along fabulously without any issues.  She has now attended several GPA events and has consistently been friendly and happy to meet with all the other hounds in attendance (and their people).  If you’re looking for a sweet, young companion with plenty of energy and love to give, Angel may just be your perfect match!
