GPA Scrapbook

Funny,
quirky,
strange,
bizarre,
and sweet.........

Pictures of our beloved, retired racing greyhounds as seen in our lives, homes, and hearts.  Many of these pups are now at the Rainbow Bridge, where they run free with the wind and where they remain in our hearts....

..A Sleepy Princess Coco...what a Greyt Life!

What a doll!!!

"Richard Maxner was a GPA friend that we have lost but will always be remembered as willing to do whatever was needed to advance the cause of the retired racer.

The
"Volunteer of the Year" award was created in his honor.

"...Our beautiful greyt Princess Coco...
She developed bone cancer and we lost her in January this year (2008).

She was gentle, loving and never knew a stranger.

My husband owns a framing business and she stayed with him 24/7 and was his official client greeter.  She was the essence of Greyt!!!!!
and the love of our lives..."
A still picture doesn't do justice to Laddie's eyes, ears and head following the fish in the aquarium! We adopted "High Courting" (Court for short) about 6 years ago in Houston. ... every night while Mike watches television.  someone lies  down with him and holds a paw while catching a snooze. We couldn't ask for a better "Couch Potato". Court favorite time is 9pm when he gets a doggie treat inside a Kong toy. The first time we tried this it took him almost an hour to figure how to get it out.
Honey in the Christmas tree looking for Santa Janny is holding 9 wk old Mattie, who turned 1 year old Oct 2001. Pic  taken in Dec 2000. She gained  45 lbs in her 1st year!! This comes to us from Michigan ....a couple of pals, to be sure! On the road with Kim, Zoe and Bob
"Cricket is shown doing what greyhounds are not supposed to be able to do! She taught me that she could do this - I cannot take credit for training her."
Then to the right is "

"I wanted to submit for the scrap book, this image of my beautiful girl Lady Ruby. She found all these stuffed animals in my daughter's  closet. They were left stashed in the closet when she went off to college. Ruby has claimed them as her 'court'. She arranged them all around her."

Texas ( who doesn't realize that he's NOT a greyhound!) has taught Braveheart how to play. It is greyt fun to watch 2 greyhounds play with a 5 inch tall dog! "This is Lexus (Strider), whom we adopted from you 4 years ago, and our newly adopted daughter Natalie.  We thought you might enjoy this picture.  He is awesome with her and has been since day one."
Honey (standing) and Starla, special pals. The face that no one can say no to, our Groucho" WillieBoy showing us his rendition of the "dead cockroach" Bandit has a new baby sister! Avery Lin Kelley was born Jan. 11, 2002

Here we have a picture submitted by Suzy Smith of her Jazz. She appears to be looking for someone or some thing in her Christmas tree.  Maybe she's just staring down the guy standing behind the tree with the treat in his hand! ?
