GPA - Houston provides plenty of opportunities for people and hounds to get together. Whether
it's a first meeting at one of our store front appearances, or a
holiday party, greyhounds are the center of attention. |

Yale Street Arts Market
This is a monthly market held in the Heights, created for
local artists to display and sell original works of art.
They are open from 11am-6pm on the first Saturday of each
month. Thanks to this organization for hosting
Greyhound Pets of America / Houston chapter, on February
2, 2008. THANK YOU!

Bath Brigades
Held monthly at the Pet Hotel, for all of the Greyhounds in our
care. We try to give our dogs that are available for adoption
just a little bit more attention, by bathing, nail trimming, ear
cleaning, checking for fleas/ticks.

Did you know that
each time we hold a bath brigade, we get lots of adoptions the same
day? A clean dog is a good looking dog, not that greyhounds
don't look good, but wow do they look greyt when just bathed.

Volunteering on a regular basis is very much appreciated, here is
where you can check out the application.

Nail clipping
On Saturdays, between 11 am and 2 pm.
Are you one that does not clip your own dogs' nails?
Don't feel bad as you are not alone. The good news is that we can help you!
Some one will be at the kennel to cut your hounds' nails
for a small donation of $6.00 per hound. Donations can go
to either the Building Fund or to a
Special Needs dog. |
Did you know?
Kroger's and Randalls both have programs in which
they donate 1% of your shopping bill to our group. If you
don't have a Kroger and/or Randalls card, contact us and we'll help
you get them right away. And once you have these cards....use
them!
Remember, every penny helps your group to find homes
for the athletes in our care! |

So you want to meet a greyhound?
Visit a
Storefront!
If
you do not yet have a greyhound and would like to see one up close
and personal---and talk to the family, this is the perfect thing to
do!
~or~
If you have a greyhound or two in your family, your 4-legged "kids"
like to go places and do things, so get in the car and "come on
down!"
Note If you happen to have a shy hound, going to
storefronts and other outings is a sure way to help your hound to
grow and develop into a more outward and secure being.
Appearances are most every
weekend, but the time, location, and contact person varies.
