GPA - Houston provides plenty of opportunities for people and hounds to get together.  Whether it's a first meeting at one of our store front appearances, or a holiday party, greyhounds are the center of attention.

What:  The Woodlands Greyhound Playgroup
When:  Every Sunday from 8:30 am to 9:30 am

Description: Each Sunday our group meets at the Alden Bridge Sports Complex (Field #4) to let our hounds run the field with their friends.  Only requirement is that you please bring your muzzle & plenty of water for your hounds.  This event is a grety opportunity for you & your hounds to meet new friends or re-connect with old ones; all while getting rid of a little energy!  Please e-mail Pat or Catherine to let them know you are coming or to ask questions.  Please check out our thread on the bulletin board (with photos) by clicking here.

What:  The Northwest Greyhound Playgroup
When:  Every Sunday from 8:00 am to 9:00 am

Where: Cy Fair Sports Association – Queenston Complex
            5500 Queenston Boulevard

Description: Our group meets on Sundays, dependent upon availability of the fields, at the Queenston Complex of the Cy Fair Sports Association to let our hounds run the field with their friends. Only requirement is that you please bring your muzzle & plenty of water for your hounds. This event is a greyt opportunity for you & your hounds to meet new friends or re-connect with old ones - all while getting rid of a little energy! Please watch our thread on the discussion board (click here) to see if the fields are available or e-mail Vicki or Geri to ask questions. Just look for us at the fields as exact location may vary from time to time due to the baseball schedule.

Bath Brigades

Held monthly at the Pet Hotel, for all of the Greyhounds in our care. We try to give our dogs that are available for adoption just a little bit more attention, by bathing, nail trimming, ear cleaning, checking for fleas/ticks.  E-mail bath@gpahouston.org to let us know that you can attend!  Did you know that each time we hold a bath brigade, we get lots of adoptions the same day?  A clean dog is a good looking dog, not that greyhounds don't look good, but wow do they look greyt when just bathed. The next Bath Brigade will be: SATURDAY JUNE 20th. ~ 9 am.

Nail clipping

On Saturdays, between 11 am and 2 pm.
Are you one that does not clip your own dogs' nails? Don't feel bad as you are not alone. The good news is that we can help you! Some one will be at the kennel to cut your hounds' nails for a small donation of $6.00 per hound. Donations can go to either the Building Fund or to a Special Needs dog.
